@undefinedHello! This is Chloe & Ruth (I prefer Ruth & Chloe, but I suppose she’s 1 minute older so it’s this way). We’re delighted to tell you about our venture to the big Oz! We decided we wanted to do a big travel journey probably around 2019. I had just finished my 4 year social care degree and Chloe was working, saved and ready to travel. Then unfortunately COVID happened so that halted our trip for about 2 years. But in that time I had found my boyfriend & favourite person and Chloe completed a pharmacy technician course (was a win win in my opinion).
TBH, I was scared to leave and Chloe too. I absolutely loved my job working in a disability unit supporting the most bright, fun, uplifting adults with special needs in such a uplifting, outgoing activity centre. My job role including weekly aqua-aerobics, bowling and tennis was coming to an end. I was gutted leaving them and scared to move so far away but knew we can just give it a go and if we didn’t like it, its only a 24 hour (feels like 48) flight away.
But the time came and I was sad to leave my boyfriend but so excited as he’s following me over in a few months’ time. Chloe and I had finally left the family home and were excited and nervous to live independently and have our own space! We came off the flight and got an Uber straight to our EasyRent apartment. Obviously being the better twin, I prearranged a gorgey apartment to stay in for 3 weeks whilst finding our feet in Sydney. It was a boho studio apartment in Bondi with a character of a cat we had to mind. Mind you, certain cats tend to spook us but he was very cute! The process was so easy and smooth. I heard of EasyRent off my friend Jennie who came home to Ireland to get hitched and rented out her place. I found a Boho dream in minutes and contacted Jack and Toby and it was secured in minutes! On our 2nd day in Sydney we were asked by the EastRent team Cathy and Toby to meet for some Asian food. It was such a nice feeling clicking straight away with them. Felt like we had been friends with Cathy years (sorry Tobs it’s an Irish thing). They were both so friendly and good crack, what more could you want?
2 weeks later we had formed a friendship and also found our stunning big balcony apartment called “Sugarflat”. It wasn’t easy at all going to many viewings and putting in so many applications but finally we got accepted! It was completely unfurnished and we had to rent a big van a number of times but from collecting free furniture off the street to Facebook marketplace it wasn’t long till we completed our little home!
Fast forward to today, a month later. Chloe landed her dream job with EasyRent, which is far from pharmacy dispensary. I’m still searching for my dream job but living the unemployment life of coastal walks, rainy walks, drinking with friends and searching for a different type of Acaibowl daily. Just awaiting my dream to come through as head CEO and communications of TWINS & THINGS. Only messing just made that up xxx.
We cannot wait to see what the summer brings, family, oversea friends and visitors. EasyRent is going to be busy matching stunning apartments for all the gang and cant wait for them all to experience the EasyRent Route. (ER take on the Rankins)
